Make meaningful change

I have always been curious as to why some people, organisations and systems change, while others presented with similar conditions do not.

Based in the purpose-led spaces, this curiosity set me on a pretty broad path for much of my career – finding ways to improve cross-functional processes, translating strategic direction into organisational planning, providing advice to expand core services, and other bits and pieces.

In spite of this breadth, the common thread had actually been less about why things change, but instead it became clear that how you change matters more than anything else. When you find the "how", the "why" disappears.

My approach combines strategic and systems thinking with practical experience across strategy, planning, projects, organisational change and capability development.

Whether supporting an individual through a career transition or an organisation through strategic change, my focus is helping people turn the potential of change into something meaningful.

Why "Neo Omelas"?

The name was drawn from Ursula Le Guin's The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, a story that explores morality, responsibility, and the choices we make when confronted with systems that create harm.

It inspired a simple belief: individuals and organisations have the capacity to shape a better future through the choices they make.

For me, Neo Omelas represents the pursuit of a better version of the world – a new, or "Neo", Omelas that people walk toward. That is why I choose to work with individuals and organisations striving to create a world free of human and environmental harm.

Guided by this vision, I seek to work with people who:

  • Live curiously by seeking to understand the world.
  • Live compassionately by seeking to care for the world.
  • Live ambitiously by seeking to change the world for the better.

Outside Neo Omelas

I'm a family man, amateur cricketer, enthusiastic coffee drinker, occasional charcoal artist and lifelong learner.

The curiosity that drives Neo Omelas is the same that I bring to everyday life: understanding people, exploring ideas and finding better ways forward.
